resident Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo said he has received a report that the body of the AsirAsia aircraft that crashed in the Karimata Strait in Central Kalimantan on Dec. 28, 2014, has been found.

'€œThis evening I am happy because minutes after 3 p.m. West Indonesia Time, I was informed that the aircraft body'€™s had been located,'€ he said in a press conference at the State Palace on Wednesday evening.

The President said efforts would be made on Thursday to enter the wreckage. He expressed his great appreciation of the hard work of the National Search and Rescue Agency and other parties taking part in the search and rescue operation

'€œI highly appreciate the hard work of the National Search and Rescue Agency and all those supporting the operation, the Indonesian Military, the National Police and the Technology Application Agency, which are all concentrating on recovering [the victims],'€ he said, as quoted by kompas.com.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Indroyono Soesilo concurred and said rescue workers and divers were scheduled to enter the aircraft'€™s body on Thursday.

'€œWe will hold a meeting tomorrow afternoon and deploy vessels,'€ he said, adding that his side would coordinate with the National Search and Rescue Agency to enter the aircraft'€™s body. (***)(+++)
