Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) commissioner Adnan Pandu Praja has said that Bambang Widjojanto will be released by the National Police before 2 p.m.
"I met with the police deputy chief and he agreed that BW [Bambang] would be released before our meeting with the President. I have also told the detective division chief, Insp. Gen. Budi Waseso," he said at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta.
Bambang was arrested by the National Police's detective division on Friday morning. Bambang has been accused of ordering a witness to commit perjury at the Constitutional Court in 2010 in a regional election dispute case in Waringin Barat, Central Kalimantan.
A report was made to the police on Jan. 15 by a member of the public.
When asked what would be the topic of discussion with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Adnan said they would discuss the sudden arrest among other issues.
Furthermore, he explained that Bambang would face the case as an individual, not as a representative of the KPK. (***)
