Two Australian drug smugglers on death row, Myuran Sukumaran, 33, and Andrew Chan, 31, still hope they can escape the firing squad.
They have asked for forgiveness, saying they had changed their lives after almost 10 years in prison.
Their Australian lawyer, Julian McMahon, said on Friday that they were very hopeful that people would forgive their crime. 'They said that it was better they spent a long time in jail than be executed,' McMahon said after visiting the pair in prison.
McMahon said both Sukumaran and Chan strongly hoped that President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Indonesia's important people could see their work during their incarceration. 'They have been working in painting workshops and in the chapel and at other activities that help prisoners learn skills,' McMahon said, adding that many prisoners used these skills to get jobs once they were released from prison.
