AKARTA: While Emerio expectedly beat Ceylon in Division I, Metro Indians upset leader Fez Rebels in Division II of the Apple Coal JCA League 2014-2015.

David Surjit'€™s unbeaten 67 runs helped Emerio beat Ceylon by 26 runs. Batting first, Emerio did well to post 198/5 in 35 overs after being 113/3 in 24 overs. Rajat made 54 runs. Timothy took 2 wickets.

Ceylon started promisingly, scoring 81/2 in 12 overs and had the game under control after 24 overs, reaching 144/6, but some tight bowling by Emerio restricted Ceylon to 172 runs. Nalaka and Mukesh chipped in with 51 and 46 runs, respectively. Harish and Joel picked up three wickets each.

A match winning debut by Kirubashankar overshadowed Marten Eddy'€™s all-round performance that could not prevent favorite Fez Rebels going down to Metro Indians by 47 runs. Electing to bat first, Metro plundered 109 runs in the last 11 overs to end up at 241/7 in 35 overs.

Kiruba top scored with 58 runs and Salauddin made 56 runs. Marten picked up 4 wickets. Rebels ended up at 195/9, with Marten being the last man standing with an unbeaten 93 runs. Kiruba, Prabhu and Sakti picked up two wickets each. Kiruba, who also kept wickets and claimed two victims including a stumping, was named man of the match for his all-round performance.

To commemorate India'€™s Republic day and Australia'€™s National Day '€” both falling on Jan. 26, expatriates from India and Australia played a T20 match, which India won by 9 wickets. Batting first, Australia was all out for 68 in 15 overs. Harish Tiwari Mamaji took 4 wickets, while David and Hitesh picked up 2 wickets each. India reached the victory target in just 8 overs, with Prem blasting an unbeaten 48 runs.

Jakarta Barbarians, WPP-India XI and WISCI lead Division I, while Fez Rebels, Metro Indians and TKCC lead Division II.
