fter two women exchanged taunts over a tattoo, LA, 19, a female senior high school student in Yogyakarta, was reportedly abducted and physically abused by nine people, mostly schoolmates.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the abduction stemmed from taunting over Hello Kitty tattoos via BlackBerry Messenger between LA and Rth, 21, a housewife believed to be the mastermind behind the abduction.

Both LA and Rth have Hello Kitty tattoos.

Feeling insulted by the mockery, Rth reportedly conspired with two friends who were students at the school to abduct LA on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. local time.

LA was then taken to Rth'€™s boarding room in Saman hamlet, Bangunharjo, Sawon, Bantul, and held there. LA was allegedly assaulted and tied up by nine people. LA, who had wounds all over her body, was rescued by residents at 11 p.m. on Friday, and later reported the incident to the police.

By Monday, the police had arrested two female students, identified only as IC, 19, and NK, 16, who attended the same school as the victim and were tasked with fetching the victim.

Bantul Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Surawan said police had deployed a team to pursue the seven other perpetrators.
