W

ith a number of its flights delayed over the past three days at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the nation'€™s main gateway, Lion Air flights out of Bali were delayed by up to four hours on Saturday.

State-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) communications officer Sherly Yunita said that four Lion Air flights bound for Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Surabaya were delayed due to operational issues.

The airline'€™s flight JT569 to Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta, for instance, took off from Ngurah Rai International Airport at 2 p.m. on Saturday while it was scheduled to depart Bali by 10:25 a.m., Sherly said.

'€œBesides Lion, [its feeder] Wings Air also experienced the same problem,'€ she said as quoted by Antara news agency.

Wings Air flight IW 1888 to Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara was delayed by almost an hour in the morning.

She said that the company had provided special rooms for thousands of Lion Air and Wings Air passengers at Ngurah Rai'€™s Gate 5 and Gate 6 since Thursday to ease passenger flow at the airport. (nfo)(+++)
