Musician Ernest Fardiyan Sjarif and his wife, actress and TV host Nirina Zubir, are enjoying their burgeoning sideline as culinary entrepreneurs.

The couple runs Nirinast, a brand of dendeng balado (spicy beef jerky), which they even export abroad.

'€œThe business is growing. Now we produce about 30 kilograms per week. [Besides selling it domestically], we also send it off to Shanghai [China], Japan and the UK,'€ Ernest, 36, guitarist with Cokelat pop band, said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

Nirina, 34, said the couple had built the business from scratch, offering the product to their friends.

'€œOur friends who live overseas miss eating dendeng from time to time. They also sometimes offer it to their foreign friends to try it out,'€ said the actress.
