Musician Ernest Fardiyan Sjarif and his wife, actress and TV host Nirina Zubir, are enjoying their burgeoning sideline as culinary entrepreneurs.
The couple runs Nirinast, a brand of dendeng balado (spicy beef jerky), which they even export abroad.
'The business is growing. Now we produce about 30 kilograms per week. [Besides selling it domestically], we also send it off to Shanghai [China], Japan and the UK,' Ernest, 36, guitarist with Cokelat pop band, said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.
Nirina, 34, said the couple had built the business from scratch, offering the product to their friends.
'Our friends who live overseas miss eating dendeng from time to time. They also sometimes offer it to their foreign friends to try it out,' said the actress.
