Singer and songwriter Iwan Fals met President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo at the State Palace on Friday.
The famed balladeer, oft viewed as the nation's political conscience, said he wanted to meet Jokowi for several reasons, but mainly to congratulate him on becoming president.
'Why now? Because he was so busy before,' Iwan said, as quoted by tempo.co on Friday.
The 53-year-old singer said that he discussed an upcoming concert in Bali with Jokowi, hinting that the President might get involved with the gig.
'I don't know when and how Pak President knows better,' Iwan said. 'For sure, me and my family are ready to participate.'
