Ticket counters to be scrapped at Soekarno-Hatta and Kualanamu airports
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten and Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra will no longer directly sell tickets as all ticket counters will be turned into customer service counters operated by airlines as of Sunday.
Airport operator Angkasa Pura II director Ituk Herarindri said on Saturday that the customer service counters would deal with ticket rerouting, rescheduling, refunds and cancellations.
"The customer service counters are aimed at improving services," Ituk said as quoted by kompas.com.
Customer service counters in terminals 1A, 1B, 1C, 2F and 3 of Soekarno-Hatta airport and in Kualanamu airport will be equipped with computers to offer online ticketing services.
Furthermore, Angkasa Pura II will cooperate with airlines to open customer service centers at the two airports to maximize the service counters.
Ituk said the operator would also urge airlines to operate ticket vending machines in the future.
