he fuselage of the AirAsia plane that crashed into the sea off South Kalimantan late last year will be handed over to the National Committee for Transport Safety (KNKT) at Jakarta's Tanjung Priok port for further examination.
The fuselage, lifted from the seabed by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) on Feb. 27, 2015, was transported from the Karimata Strait to Tanjung Priok aboard the Crest Onyx vessel, Basarnas spokesman Dianta Bangun said, as reported by Antara news agency on Monday.
Basarnas officially called off search and rescue operation on Feb. 28, 2015, saying that it was unlikely that it would find more missing passengers.
The plane crashed with more than 160 people on board, all believed dead, on its way from Surabaya, East Java, to Singapore on Dec. 28.
So far, 103 bodies were found and 97 of them were identified. (hhr)
