he Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono has ordered all police precincts and subprecincts to conduct nightly raids to prevent violent motorcycle thefts.
Unggung emphasized Monday that he would not hesitate to dismiss the head of a precinct or subprecinct who did not hold any raids for three consecutive nights.
'There are 109 police precincts and subprecincts under the Jakarta Police. If they have been warned and fail to conduct nightly raids three times in a row, we will evaluate and replace them,' Unggung told reporters at the Jakarta Police headquarters as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He also applauded Cilandak Police in South Jakarta who had recently arrested a violent thief just five hours after the incident took place.
