akarta Governor Basuki '€œAhok'€ Tjahaja Purnama has reportedly come down with dengue fever, which has forced him to skip a number of activities on Monday.

Ahok, who usually arrives at the City Hall on 7.30 a.m., did not appear on Monday.

The administration'€™s Gubernatorial and Foreign Affairs Agency head, Muhammad Mawardi, later revealed that the governor was suspected of having contracted dengue. He refused to provide details about the governor'€™s whereabouts, or whether he was being treated at his home in Pluit, North Jakarta, or in a hospital.

One staff member further revealed that the governor'€™s youngest son, Daud Albeener, 9, also came down with dengue.

Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat stood in for Ahok on Monday to lead the weekly city officials meeting at City Hall. (ebf)(+++)
