member of the so-called Hello Kitty gang, identified only as NK, 16, went on trial on Tuesday at the Bantul District Court in Yogyakarta for kidnapping and torturing a high school student, LA, 18.
Speaking to the press after the closed hearing, prosecutor Heradian Salibi said the defendant, along with her eight all-female gang members, had kidnapped and tortured LA for having a similar Hello Kitty tattoo at a rented house in Saman hamlet, Bangunharjo village, Bantul on Feb. 17.
Meanwhile, Bantul Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Surawan said the police were still hunting for four of the other perpetrators.
'We are sending two teams to two cities in Central Java, which are believed the hiding places of the perpetrators,' Surawan said.
