olice officers arrested a 39-year-old man, thought to be a Malaysian, with the initials AB early on Monday in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, for carrying 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

'€œThe suspect has a Tawau [Malaysia] ID as well as a Palu [Central Sulawesi] ID. We are still waiting for confirmation from the authorities,'€ East Kalimantan Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Fajar Setiawan said.

Fajar alleged that AB, who was arrested along with his wife, SUT, who possessed a Tarakan, North Kalimantan, ID, had brought the drugs in 20 packages worth a total of Rp 2 billion (US$153,000).

He said that based on the suspect'€™s confession, AB had arrived in Tarakan from Tawau in a speedboat and continued via land to Balikpapan.
