T

he Mount Sinabung Disaster Mitigation Task Force was officially dissolved on Monday following the repatriation of thousands of displaced people to their respective homes.

Task force commander Lt. Col. Asep Sukarna said all 42 evacuation posts, plus the main post, had been closed.

'€œThere'€™s no more posts for evacuees. All are closed along with the dispersal of the task force,'€ Asep, who had led the task force since eruptions started two years ago, told The Jakarta Post.

Two weeks ago, the Karo administration has repatriated the last batch of 2,442 people or 795 families. The evacuees were returned home and given Rp 3 million in cash per family.
