n a bid to improve services, the Health Agency's East Jakarta office is planning to revitalize six poorly maintained community health centers (Puskesmas) this year.
Office head Iwan Kurniawan said Tuesday that each center would be allocated about Rp 4 billion (US$304,000) for the renovations.
The six centers are located in Pisangan Timur 2, Balimester, Makasar, Kampung Melayu, Cililitan and Kampung Tengah.
'We are now holding the bidding process,' he said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
He added that construction would begin after the city budget was passed.
Iwan said his office would also continue working on several Puskesmas whose renovations were ongoing, as in Rawabunga, Penggilingan, Jati I, Halim 2, Kampung Dukuh, Pondok Kelapa and Klender I.
'The cost of the renovations will be around Rp 1 billion to Rp 1.6 billion per building,' he said.
