resident Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla are scheduled to attend the national congress of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), which will be held in Sanur, Bali, on April 9-12, 2015.

'€œAccording to the information I got, Pak Jokowi and Pak Jusuf Kalla will attend the congress'€™ opening ceremony,'€ kompas.com quoted Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo as saying in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said, however, that the party had no special agenda for the country'€™s two top leaders and they would not present political speeches during the event.

The chairman of the congress'€™ steering committee, Andreas Pareira, said that around 2,000 PDI-P senior members from all provinces, regencies, municipalities and subdistricts and all members of the party'€™s executive board and the PDI-P-affiliated mass organization would attend.

He said many senior figures of other parties from Indonesia and overseas would be also invited to the congress'€™ opening ceremony.

Tjahjo added that the party would likely unanimously reelect former president Megawati Soekarnoputri as party chairwoman as most provincial and regional functionaries supported her reelection. (rms)(++++)
