A

new Indo Barometer survey shows that public approval of the administration of President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla stands at 57.5 percent, although the public'€™s perception of the presidency'€™s value is higher, at 88.3 percent.

'€œFrom the results of the survey, it is very clear that immediate measures need to be taken to improve the administration'€™s performance. There is still a chance [for improvements to be made] as the favorable rating for the presidency is still quite high even though public satisfaction in the President is low,'€ Indo Barometer director M. Qodari said as quoted by Antara news agency on Monday.

Conducted from March 13 to 25, the survey involved 1,200 respondents in 34 provinces, with a margin of error of 3 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.

Qodari said the survey revealed that the satisfaction rating for Jokowi-Kalla'€™s Cabinet was even lower, at 46.8 percent.

'€œOnly Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti is widely known by the public [32.1 percent] and she is considered to have the best work performance [24.1 percent],'€ said Qodari.

Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani ranked second in terms of popularity, with a 9.6 percent approval rating, followed by Culture and Elementary and Secondary Education Minister Anies Baswedan at 6.5 percent.

Anies ranked second in terms of work performance, with a 3.9 percent approval rating, followed by Puan with 3.4 percent.
