he fourth Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) congress to be held in Bali from April 8 to 12 will reinstall Megawati Soekarnoputri as the party's chairwoman for the 2015-2020 period.
'The inauguration of Ibu Megawati, to continue her leadership as PDI-P chairwoman for the next five years, represents the process of consensus democracy and guided democracy,' the party's deputy secretary general, Ahmad Basarah, said as quoted by Antara news agency in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said the decision to continue to support Megawati's leadership had been made in the party's national meeting (Rakernas) in Semarang in September 2014.
'The suggestion was first initiated by elected President Joko [Jokowi] Widodo when he made his opening remarks, which received a positive response from Rakernas participants,' said Ahmad. (ebf)(++++)
