rade Minister Rachmat Gobel says that the World Economic Forum (WEF), slated to be held on April 19-21 in Jakarta, is an opportunity to attract more investment to Indonesia.

"With this event, we hope to convince business players from all over the world to invest in Indonesia," he said as quoted by Antara news agency on Tuesday after a coordination meeting for WEF preparation.

The government will also promote the vision and mission of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration, as well as the administration'€™s plans on infrastructure projects to boost the Indonesian economy.

So far the preparations for the event are almost complete.

"We are 90 percent finished. The remaining 10 percent is details, such as attendance confirmation for VVIP guests," he said, adding that that five countries had confirmed the attendance of their heads of government, including Cambodia.

Gobel said that he had coordinated with all related agencies to ensure security during the event, as it will be held at the same time as the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asia-Africa Conference.

"I think the coordination [between the two events] will be automatically merged to ensure security," he said.

The committee have sent 1,000 invitations and so far 600 guests have confirmed their attendance.

Among the scheduled topics to be discussed in the conference are trade, food security, energy supply, financial inclusion, strategic infrastructure, investment, inclusive health and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). (fsu/nvn)(++++)
