Head of the immigration office at Tunon Taka Seaport in Nunukan, Nasution, said that most of the deported citizens, comprising 64 men, 55 women, five boys and four girls, had breached Malaysian immigration law and spent months in a temporary detention house in Tawau.
One of the deportees, street food seller Heri Irawan, told Antara news agency that he was arrested while using methamphetamine with his four friends at a hotel in Tawau. A local court sentenced him to seven months in jail.
Five of the deportees had used tourist visas to enter Malaysia, 17 used working visas, while two had used border crossing passes (PLB) and the rest were illegal. (+++++)
