resident Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo on Saturday evening officially opened the national congress of the Justice and Indonesian Unity Party (PKPI) IV to be held through Tuesday in Medan, North Sumatra.

Also joining the opening ceremony were chairpersons of the Great Indonesia Coalition political parties, including Megawati Soekarnoputeri of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Surya Paloh of Nasdem Party, Wiranto of People'€™s Conscience (Hanura) Party and Agung Laksono, leader of one faction of the Golkar Party.

A number of Cabinet ministers, including Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly and Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Minister Marwan Jafar were also in attendance.

Jokowi said Indonesia faced four big challenges: unemployment, poverty, social and regional gaps and corruption.

'€œThese have to be addressed. Unfortunately, many have not yet [become] aware and want everything to be [solved in an] instant,'€ Jokowi said, adding that he and Vice President Jusuf Kalla had only been working for five months.
