gung Laksono'€™s camp is confident about maintaining the Golkar Party leadership, saying that the recent lawsuit filed by the opposing camp of Aburizal Bakrie against it would be thrown out of court.

Aburizal'€™s camp earlier filed suit at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) to challenge the law and human rights minister'€™s decree validating Agung'€™s chairmanship.

Golkar Party'€™s Lawrence Siburian, an Agung supporter, said the PTUN had no right to rule on a decision made by another judicial body, namely the Golkar Party'€™s internal tribunal.

'€œThe PTUN is a general court. The party'€™s leadership dispute should be settled through its own tribunal. It is called lex specialis,'€ Lawrence said on Sunday.

He said internal disputes of a political party were regulated under Law No. 2/2011 on political parties, adding that Article 32 stipulated that political party disputes should be addressed through the parties'€™ internal tribunals.

The Aburizal camp'€™s legal move, which followed a prolonged rift over the Golkar leadership that started late last year, resulted in the suspension of the Law and Human Rights Ministry'€™s endorsement of Agung'€™s chairmanship.
