resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo refused on Sunday to respond to questions on the recent plea made by France President Francois Hollande, who said that the execution of his citizen for drug offenses could damage ties between the nations.
Prior to departing for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the ASEAN Summit, Jokowi said that all matters regarding the second round of executions should be addressed to Attorney General M. Prasetyo.
"I won't answer questions [regarding the foreign governments' pleas]. My stance has been made clear and I won't repeat it," said Jokowi.
According to lawyers of several inmates on death row, the second-round of executions will be carried out on Tuesday.
However, it remains unclear whether all 10 death row inmates will be executed.
The inmates are citizens of France, Australia, the Philippine, Ghana, Nigeria and Indonesia. (ren)(++++)
