he Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) said on Tuesday that mainland China ranked 10th among Indonesia's biggest foreign investors during the first quarter of the year.
"It's the first time that China managed to make it to the top 10," said BKPM chairman Franky Sibarani.
China invested $75.1 million in 200 projects in Indonesia during the period, a diminutive fraction compared to first-ranked Singapore at $1.2 billion or fifth-ranked US at $292 million.
The BKPM has previously revealed that investment realization by Chinese investors was usually less than 7 percent annually.
Indonesia's biggest foreign investors in the first quarter were Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the UK, the US, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong and China. (ren)(+++)
