Attorney General H
ttorney General H.M.Prasetyo has said the second batch of executions, carried out on eight death row inmates on Nusakambangan prison island, early on Wednesday, ran better and with more discipline than the first batch.
"After the first batch of executions in January, we conducted evaluations on what things we needed to improve. This included providing more and better mortuary rooms so that in the second batch of executions, we treated the bodies of the death row inmates with proper dignity," Prasetyo said as quoted by Antara to journalists at the Wijaya Pura dock in Cilacap regency, Central Java, on Wednesday.
He was speaking after he visited the execution location at the Tunggal Panaluan shooting range on Nusakambangan, together with National Police chief Gen.Badrodin Haiti.
Prasetyo said executing the death row inmates was not a satisfying job or a thing that could make him happy; but, it had to be conducted to save Indonesian people from drugs.
"We are not a country that is in a struggle against home countries of foreign death row inmates executed early on Wednesday. What we want to fight against is drug crime," said Prasetyo.(+++)
