National Police chief Gen
ational Police chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti said the police have no plans to drop the Novel Baswedan case and he would continue to be investigated so as to be brought to court.
'Regarding the Novel Baswedan case, we hope it will be settled in court. He will be proven guilty or not depending on evidence presented by the police to the court so that the police will not be accused of criminalizing him,' he said at the Attorney General's Office here on Monday.
Badrodin said the police have their own interest in bringing this case and two others, implicating former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Abraham Samad and Bambang Widjojanto, to court so that the public could understand.
'We have reached a joint agreement (with the KPK) to settle the three cases in court,' he said as quoted by kompas.com.
Novel has been held as a suspect in a shooting case that took place when he was chief of detectives with the Bengkulu Provincial Police in 2004. (rms)(+++)
