AKARTA: Everyone deserves a grand day out - including housemaids, presenter Mendya 'Indy' Barends says.
The 43-year-old told kompas.com recently that she always gave her maids off time in gratitude for the work that they do.
'Every month, I always take them somewhere,' she said.
She said the trips are meant to make the maids felt comfortable working with her, adding that overwork can reduce productivity. 'Let them enjoy their free time so they don't get bored.'
Indy also gives her maids some pocket money on the holiday.
Indy married Benyamin Sarmanella and the couple has two sons, Manuel Tobias Sarmanella and Raphael Sarmanella.
