T

he secretary-general of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Hasto Kristiyanto, gave assurances on Thursday that Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo and Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani no longer received payments from the House of Representatives.

He said that Tjahjo and Puan, who were PDI-P members and House members from October until November 2014, did not receive any pay from the House after they were recruited by the new government at the end of November 2014.

'€œBoth did not receive monthly salaries from the House after they occupied ministerial posts in the Cabinet,'€ kompas.com quoted him as saying here on Thursday.

It was reported that Tjahjo and Puan were still registered as House members six months after they were sworn in.

Hasto, however, said his party had yet to determine who would fill the two House seats left vacant by the two PDI-P members.

'€œThe party is still preparing two successors at the House,'€ he said as quoted by tribunnews.com. (rms)(+++)
