eath row inmates Yusman Telaumbanua and Rasulah Hia have been transferred from prison on Nusakambangan Island off Cilacap, Central Java, and taken to Tangerang Penitentiary in Banten.

The two'€™s murder case will be reviewed by the Supreme Court following a new finding that Yusman was a minor when he was sentenced to death.

The head of prison affairs at the Central Java Law and Human Rights Agency, A. Yuspahruddin, confirmed on Friday that the two death row inmates had been transferred to the Tangerang prison.

He said Yusman had been transferred on Tuesday after he requested a court review of his case.

'€œYusman'€™ lawyers will file for the review in Jakarta, not in Medan, and that is why he was transferred to Tangerang,'€ he said.

Yusman and his brother were sentenced to death by the Medan District Court in 2012 after they were found guilty of killing three neighbors. The murders occurred during a dispute over gecko sales.

Yusman claims he was 16 when he was sentenced to death.

National Commission for Child Protection chairman Ariest Merdeka Sirait said recently that he would help Yusman file a request with the Supreme Court to review his case. (++++)
