he Sukabumi Immigration Office in West Java arrested 24 foreigners between May 4 and11 for various immigration violations, an official said on Friday.
The 14 Chinese, four South Koreans, two Malaysians, one Indian, two Moroccans and one Egyptian "violated stay permits, administrative visa procedures by overstaying three years, as well as involvement in unregistered marriages [with locals]," Sukabumi Immigration Office head Filianto Akbar said.
"We will continue the operation as there is a possibility that there are other foreigners violating immigration regulations," Filianto said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that this year his office had deported 20 foreigners from the Netherlands, China and Hong Kong, more than last year's 14 foreigners from Malaysia, Pakistan and Singapore. (++++)
