ll was going well for Yuan, a young Chinese man from Changsha, Yunnan province, until March 24, when a car accident landed him in the hospital. What happened next may have been more painful than the bodily hurt.
Apparently, hospital authorities informed all of Yuan's 'close friends' about his accident. One after another, 17 women rushed to the hospital to see Yuan, horrified to find other women claiming to be his girlfriend, the South China Morning Post reported recently.
Yuan had dated some of the women for years. With one he has a son. With another he planned to marry. Xiao Li, who said she had been in love with Yuan for more than a year, changed her mind about him immediately.
'I was really worried when I heard he was in hospital,' Xiao told the local Xiaoxiang Chen Bao paper. 'But when I started seeing more and more beautiful girls show up, I couldn't cry anymore.'
Wang Fang, who has a son with Yuan, had a different reaction.
'What can I do now? I don't love him anymore, but I do love my son,' the Post quoting Wang as saying.
Apparently having relations with 17 was not enough for Yuan. He also demanded money every month from some.
This came to light after Yuan's victims set up an online chat group called 'Revenge Alliance'.
Yuan, who lost love and suffered injuries, has been arrested for fraud.
Yuan's story went viral on Chinese social media, with some admiring him for his love skills and others lashing out at him for cheating.
