The Tangerang administration will present 100 boats to showcase the city'€™s rich culture during the Cisadane River Festival, which will be held from May 23 to May 30.

Tangerang, the biggest city in Banten province, was home to one of the first ethnic Chinese settlements in the country.

The Cisadane River Festival will take place at various points along the river, including on Jl. Benteng Jaya and Jl. Berhias. Visitors will be able to enjoy local foods, products, a fashion show and music entertainment.

'€œThe event is held to celebrate the rich culture in this city, which is also called a '€˜city of a thousand industries'€™,'€ Tangerang Mayor Arief R. Wismansyah said Friday as quoted by Antara news agency. Arief said he hoped the festival would be recognized on the international level.
