T

wo rival camps within the Golkar Party held a meeting on Friday in what many said was the first step toward reconciliation.

In the meeting, hosted by party chairman Aburizal Bakri and House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto, the camp of Agung Laksono was represented by Yorris Raweyai.

Setya said there was nothing special about the meeting.

'€œI regularly meet Pak Aburizal to share the latest updates from the House,'€ he said as quoted by kompas.com.

Setya, however, also said the meeting between Aburizal and Yorris was held to seek common ground regarding the future of Golkar.

'€œWe and Yorrys discussed ways to seek reconciliation in an amiable manner. We have common views [on reconciliation],'€ he said.
