Riser ShaDaff team gets Garuda sponsorship

Being the recipient of sponsorship from Garuda Indonesia seemed to provide more impetus to Indonesia'€™s Riser ShaDaff Motorsport team, with its ace driver Senna Noor achieving his third top podium in as many races in the Asian Rotax Max Challenge at the weekend.

At the Speedway Plus Karting Circuit in Malaysia, Senna continued his dominant form in the DD2 category to touch the finish line 3.1 seconds ahead of Melvin Moh of Malaysia, the team said in a release.

Sergio Noor was also outstanding in his Micro Max race by finishing in second place while Barrichello Noor had to be content with fifth position in the Junior Max.

'€œThe drivers gave their best for the team. This gives me pride as the instructor, who prepares their cars and mentality in each race,'€ Didi Soekarja said in Jakarta.

Three wins out of three races have given Senna more confidence about qualifying for the Grand Final as he did last year.

'€œI'€™m happy, absolutely because the other drivers also reached podiums. This series was perfect for us,'€ Senna said upon the team'€™s arrival in Jakarta on Thursday.

This year'€™s Rotax Max Grand Finals will be staged in Portugal. In Valencia last year, Senna could not get further than the preliminary races.

Meanwhile, team principal Bunjamin Noor announced their partnership with national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.

He said that the cooperation, despite having yet to be finalized formally, was effective from the third series at the weekend up to the Grand Finals.

'€œWe did cooperate in the past before it was stopped when the new [Garuda] board came in. We have started it again [in support] of all our race activities,'€ Bunjamin said.
