eedless to say, Indonesia's decision to give drug smugglers the death sentence elicited protests, especially among countries whose citizens were involved in the smuggling.
Some people in the West might have hoped for a presidential intervention.
But why are some countries under scrutiny while others aren't? There are other countries that have the death penalty, including Singapore, Malaysia, China and even the US.
