risna Mukti, a lawmaker from the National Awakening Party (PKB), reported his wife, Devi Nurmayanti, to the Jakarta Police on Friday for allegedly incorporating false information into an authentic document and falsifying someone's pedigree.
Previously, Devi filed a report against Krisna with the Jakarta Police and the House of Representatives' ethic council for domestic abandonment.
One of Krisna's lawyers, Ramdan Alamsyah, said at the Jakarta Police headquarters that Devi put his client's name in the birth statement letter for Devi's child, identified as SAA, without his client's consent.
'SAA is not Krisna's son. Everyone knows that Devi was pregnant with another man when she married Krisna. By putting Krisna's name as the father, Devi removed her child's pedigree and gave false information,' he said, adding that Devi also put a fake address and identity number for Krisna inthe letter.
Devi then published the letter for the public, which harmed Krisna's reputation, according to the lawyer.
Krisna, through his lawyers, reported Devi for violating Article 266 of the Criminal Code for stating fake information in an authentic document with maximum punishment of seven years of imprisonment and Article 277 for taking someone's identity with maximum punishment of six years of imprisonment.
Krisna and Devi married in June 2014. Devi claimed that Krisna had only provided her with limited physical and conjugal support in the first two months of their marriage. (prm/nvn)(++++)
