joint police operation arrested 31 people involved in a violent incident at a mall in Kepala Gading, North Jakarta, and confiscated plenty of weapons as well as a whisky bottle from a Betawi Brotherhood Forum (FBR) post.
FBR members ran amok at the Mall of Indonesia (MOI) shopping complex on Friday reportedly driven by a dispute with the mall's security officers.
"Of the 31, we charged nine FBR members for the attack and three [MOI] security officers for ganging up on FBR members," Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono said on Saturday.
The police also confiscated 40 bows, four spears, 13 slingshots, two billiard balls, 55 marbles and an empty whisky bottle from an FBR post in Sunter, North Jakarta, kompas.com reported.
Hundreds of FBR members ran amok in the mall premises after reportedly failing to get a cut from an advertising installation.
The FBR members damaged five parking booths and caused panic among the mall's visitors. (++++)
