n celebrating its 533rd anniversary, Bogor is holding an umbrella festival for a month starting on Saturday. Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto will launch the city's Festival Budaya Helaran (Road Parade Festival) on the same day.
Hundreds of colorful umbrellas were seen along Jl. Sudirman and Jl. Juanda in Central Bogor, set in and between trees, as well as in front of the mayor's office, according to tribunnews.com.
Bogor city secretariat spokesman Encep Ali Alhamidi said that various cultural shows would be included in the parade and officials would ride horses from the Pajajaran sports hall to Sempur Field.
Anniversary team head Toto M. Ulum said that around 10,000 colorful umbrellas would be set in crowded spots to enliven the atmosphere at peak of the festival.
Bogor's anniversary marks the coronation of Prabu Siliwangi as the king of the Pajajaran Kingdom in 1482.
