'€˜Islamic State member'€™ held in Dhaka

Detectives claimed to have arrested a member of Islamic State (ISIS) in Dhaka.

Detective Branch of police will inform details about the arrest at a press briefing at the media centre of Dhaka Metropolitan Police around 11:00am, said a text massage floated by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police media wing today.

On May 25, the detectives detained two suspected members of the ISIS members from the capital.

The detainees Aminul Islam Begh, 40, wasa local recruiter of IS, and Sakib bin Kamal, 30, his associate.

Begh, the information technology chief of a multinational company in Dhaka, already selected 20 activists including Kamal, a teacher of a English medium school, to join IS in Syria and Iraq, DMP sources said.

A team of police from Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Begh, who was a regional coordinator of JMB, in Uttara while Kamal in Lalmatia in the city last night. (***)
