ice President Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to inaugurate tourism facilities in Bintan, Riau Islands, and a grand mosque in the regency on Sunday.
Kalla departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta on a Boeing 737-400 owned by the Indonesian Air Force at around 7 a.m. local time and arrived in Bintan at 8:30 a.m.
"Kalla is scheduled to inaugurate a number of Bintan tourism facilities in Lagoi Bay, Riau Islands, and also Baitul Makmur, the grand mosque of Bintan regency, during the visit," Antara reported on Sunday.
Kalla's wife Mufidah Kalla, Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara and Tourism Minister Arief Yahya as well as two senior officials from the Tourism Ministry, namely deputy minister for Infrastructure Economic and Maritime Affairs Policy Tirta Hidayat and director general for Tourism Destination Development Dadang Rizki, accompanied the Vice President during the visit. Riau Islands governor HM Sani and Bintan regent Ansar Ahmad welcomed Kalla and his entourage.
The Vice President reportedly will fly back to Jakarta from Bintan at 5:10 p.m. local time. (ebf)
