he Indonesian Navy is slated to hold joint training with French cadets who arrived Wednesday at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, as part of the French naval Jeanne d'Arc mission.
The cadets from the French Naval Academy, along with several foreign trainee officers including one from the Indonesian Navy, arrived on helicopter carrier LHD Dixmude vessel and frigate LSF Aconit vessel.
"We will have joint training with the Indonesian Navy on Sunday," the commanding officer of LHD Dixmude ship, Capt. Pierre de Briançon, told the media on a visit to the ship on Wednesday.
The France military personnel aim to use the training as an opportunity for the two military forces to learn from each other. The joint training will be held on the last day of the French delegation's five-day visit to Indonesia through the mission.
"The military cooperation should boost the interoperability skill of both forces," French Ambassador to Indonesia Corinne Breuzé said.
