state prosecutor demanded on Monday an American citizen be sentenced to 12 months in prison for possessing 3.10 grams of marijuana for self consumption in Bali.
'The defendant is guilty of possessing grade one drugs for self consumption and breaching Law No. 35/2009 on narcotics,' prosecutor Ni Wayan Yusmawati told the Denpasar District Court.
Scott Wikoff Odowd, 31, was arrested on Feb. 15 in a hotel in Denpasar after the police found the dried marijuana in his suitcase.
The defendant admitted to the possession of marijuana, which he purchased from IWJ, who was on the police's most-wanted list (DPO), for Rp 600,000 (US$44.8).(++++)
