Leading Japanese company Casio launched on Wednesday an environmentally friendly product, the Projector XJ-V1.
Bara, business relations manager of Casio Singapore Pte. Ltd., said during the launch ceremony that the newest product had no lamps and applied LED laser hybrid technology.
Other similar products still use lamps containing mercury that can have ill-health effects.
'Using LED laser hybrid [technology] has numerous advantages because it can be used for more than 20,000 hours. Other products can last up to 3,000 hours. The XJ-V1 projector also saves power,' he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Bara said the new product, costing Rp 9.2 million (US$699) per unit, was produced in Yamagata, Japan, while similar products with other brands have been made in China or other countries.
He said Casio gave a three-year guarantee for service and spare-parts while the LED hybrid was guaranteed for up to 6,000 hours.
'I want to make sure that by purchasing this product, consumers can save operational costs because it does not use lamps and it can last for a long time,' he said.
Casio Singapore sales manager Thian Fong said besides being efficient in its utility, the new product also used quick on and quick off technology.
'If you are busy and have to attend other meetings, you will have no difficulties to turning off the new product [within five seconds],' he said. (rms)(+++)
