The truck was destined to transport the timber, derived from forests in Dompu and Sumbawa, to Probolinggo, East Java.
Cakranegara Police chief Comr. I Gusti Putu Suarnaya said on Wednesday that the police had seized the truck after its driver, who is now being questioned, failed to present proper documents for the lumber.
'We are still building the case and investigating the timber owner. If the timber is proven to be derived from illegal logging, the suspects could be charged with violating Article 88 of the 2007 Forest Management Law of and could face over five years imprisonment,' he said.
