Mt. Merapi to prepare selfie spot for visitors

Mount Merapi National Park management announced on Thursday that it planned to provide a selfie spot for visitors.

The head of the national park, Suwignyo, said that the plan came about following last month'€™s accident, which resulted in the death of climber Eri Yunanto while taking a selfie on one of the crests.

'€œThat incident has encouraged us to set up a place for photos,'€ he said as quoted by tempo.co.

He hoped that the facility would reduce the number of climbers who took photos in dangerous places.

The selfie spot will be built approximately 1 kilometer from the peak of Mount Merapi. (ika)(+++)
