Greater jakarta: Toll road discounted during Idul Fitri

S

tate-run toll operator Jasa Marga lowered toll road fees between 25 to 35 percent on Tuesday morning in compliance with President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo'€™s policy on special toll road tariffs during the Idul Fitri holiday.

'€œThe new toll road tariff has just come into effect beginning Tuesday morning for the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road,'€ Jasa Marga general manager, Yudhi Krisyunoro, said on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com

Yudhi said that the policy started from July 7 and would last until July 22. The 35 percent discount is applied to all toll roads, except Jakarta'€™s inner-city toll roads, subject instead to a 25 percent reduction in tariffs.

Jasa Marga expected that the lowered tariff would boost traffic volumes on all toll roads, particularly on Jakarta'€™s inner-city and outer ring-road toll roads, which are managed by the toll operator.

Meanwhile, the policy brought fresh relief to 29-year-old Bekasi resident Ningsih, who plans to go back to her hometown in Bandung, West Java.

'€œI'€™m happy with the policy because I can save my money and give it to my nephews and nieces in my hometown,'€ she said.
