tate-run toll operator Jasa Marga lowered toll road fees between 25 to 35 percent on Tuesday morning in compliance with President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's policy on special toll road tariffs during the Idul Fitri holiday.
'The new toll road tariff has just come into effect beginning Tuesday morning for the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road,' Jasa Marga general manager, Yudhi Krisyunoro, said on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com
Yudhi said that the policy started from July 7 and would last until July 22. The 35 percent discount is applied to all toll roads, except Jakarta's inner-city toll roads, subject instead to a 25 percent reduction in tariffs.
Jasa Marga expected that the lowered tariff would boost traffic volumes on all toll roads, particularly on Jakarta's inner-city and outer ring-road toll roads, which are managed by the toll operator.
Meanwhile, the policy brought fresh relief to 29-year-old Bekasi resident Ningsih, who plans to go back to her hometown in Bandung, West Java.
'I'm happy with the policy because I can save my money and give it to my nephews and nieces in my hometown,' she said.
