Two arrested for meth possession

he National Police said on Wednesday that they had arrested two people for the possession of 360 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, known locally as sabu.

National Police chief Badrodin Haiti said that the two had been arrested last Friday following investigations into a series of drug cases. Further investigation indicated that the two suspects -- one from Hong Kong, the other Indonesian ' were part of a Hong Kong ' Jakarta drug ring.

'In the first operation, we arrested CT, a Hong Kong national, seizing 10 kg of sabu from him. CT's arrest led us to MW, an Indonesian, who was arrested on the same day,' Badrodin said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

During the interrogation, police discovered that MW was a large-scale drug dealer. Information from the two led to the discovery of 350 kg of meth in a car belonging to CT.

The police are still looking for two other Hong Kong nationals believed to be the masterminds of the drug operation. It is suspected that the two have fled abroad.

The police, Badrodin went on, were cooperating with police units from mainland China, Hong Kong and Thailand to solve the case. (ika)(++++)
