KPK questions North Sumatra governor in bribery case

T

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned on Wednesday morning North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho as a witness in a bribery case worth US$20,000.

Gatot arrived at KPK headquarters at 9:40 a.m. with his legal team led by Razman Arief Nasution, according to kompas.com

KPK investigators questioned Gatot today as a witness in a case that involves judges in Medan, North Sumatra and lawyer OC Kaligis after skipping questioning on July, 13.

The KPK has slapped a travel ban on Gatot after raiding his office.

The bribery is alleged to relate to a Medan State Administrative Court (PTUN) ruling that the North Sumatra Prosecutor'€™s Office had no authority to investigate the province'€™s administration finance bureau head Ahmad Fuad Lubis in the alleged misappropriation of regional assistance and assistance funds of the provincial administration.

The three PTUN judges '€“ Tripeni Irianto Putra, Amir Fauzi and Dermawan Ginting -- were arrested after accepting $20,000 from Kaligis'€™ aide, Yagari '€œGerry'€ Bhastara Guntur, during a KPK sting operation earlier this month. (ika)(++++)
