You don't protect children through prohibition. Prohibition just drives the trade into the unregulated and usually unscrupulous underground. Corrupt police and criminals will make big money satisfying the demand and people will die from drinking tainted unregulated products.
What protection is it to force the young into an unregulated alcohol market?
Politicians, please don't be so foolish as to believe that prohibition will remove the demand for alcohol. Keep it legal and under your control.
